Project Overview
The 22,000 square foot addition to the existing facility will house the Diesel and Heavy Equipment Service and Technician Training Center. The new facility will house state-of-the-art technology with bays for working with compressed natural gas, and it will also allow Western to bring all of its instructors and students under on roof.
The project attained a LEED Gold Certification with exemplary performance in several areas. • Construction Waste Management – 97% of waste diverted from the landfill, totaling over 800 tons. • Optimize Energy Performance – 54% energy use reduction, saving WTC approximately $25,000 per year. • Regional Materials – Nearly 60% of the materials were regional which supports the local economy and communities around WTC/LaCrosse.
