Project Overview
An addition and remodeling project at the present Middle School included a new student drop-off area; restoration of the exterior brick masonry; replacement of windows; new flooring, ceilings and painting throughout; new student lockers; and the refurbishing of restrooms. Remodeling also occurred at all of the vestibules; the 7th grade science room; the art room; the cafeteria into an 8th grade science classroom; the media center; and the existing band room into new girl’s locker room. New items that were installed include new casework in all classrooms; a fire alarm system, a security system, locker room exhaust, air conditioning in the administrative area and a computer classroom, and a new elevator. Systems that were totally redone include the building ventilation systems; the main electrical service and power distribution systems; emergency lighting; telephone/intercom systems; and clock, technology and data systems.
The addition included a new cafeteria; a commons/locker area; a new kitchen; a new freezer/cooler; restrooms; a new industrial arts shop and classroom; and new choir and band rooms with practice and storage rooms.
