Project Overview
LaCrosse, Wisconsin
On May 22, 2011 a powerful tornado struck La Crosse’s south side and severely damaged the Pepsi-Cola south warehouse and the office building. HSR worked with a local contractor on plans for a new office facility and warehouse re-build that could be constructed while portions of the existing facility were still functioning prior to their demolition and space reuse as a parking lot. HSR’s designers worked on a brick match to the north warehouse and recalled historic brick and metal detailing of the area and of the former Pepsi-Cola facility, in forming a cohesive campus of buildings. The exterior glass is tinted blue for energy conservation as well as to recall the Pepsi “Blue”. HSR’s designers worked with the owner on a one of a kind two story lobby that not only provides security for the building but lets the visitor experience the history of Pepsi through graphic images and wood detailing.
