Project Overview
The Viroqua Area Medical Office Building is a $20 million, 144,000 square foot, five story building in the town of Viroqua, Wisconsin. The building houses medical offices and clinical space, laboratory and radiology areas, and also a restaurant style cafeteria and large conference center which is open to the public. The building has a direct link to the adjacent Vernon Memorial Hospital. The project was funded through both Vernon Memorial Healthcare and Gundersen Lutheran systems, two totally separate healthcare entities.
This project is the first of its kind in this area where a smaller local healthcare system took the lead in partnering with a much larger regional healthcare provider to build a new structure to expand and house both of them. It brings together four entities under one roof: Vernon Memorial Hospitals’s Outreach Clinic, Hirsch Clinic of Viroqua, Gundersen Lutheran Clinic of Viroqua and the Gundersen Lutheran Eye Clinic of Viroqua. The project also brings in Franciscan Skemp, Winona Clinic, Oral Surgery and Psychiatric Care to the Outreach Clinic which is run by Vernon Memorial Healthcare.
